Driving routes for the Copenhagen Metro

The Copenhagen Metro has two main lines, M1 and M2 and M3, connecting the city centre with the outer areas. The M1 line runs from Vanløse to Vestamager, while the M2 line connects the airport with Vanløse.

The M3 Cityringen opened in September 2019 and brings together Copenhagen Central Station, Inner City with its 15.5 kilometres of underground tunnels. There are a total of 17 underground stations on the line, where you have the option to transfer to the other metro lines.

In 2024, the M4 metro line will be extended with five new stations: this extension will connect other parts of the city. The M4 will have shared stations and tracks with the M3 City Ring, allowing for easy transfers to other metro lines.

Ticket prices for Copenhagen Metro vary depending on the zones you're travelling through and whether it's a single ticket or a travel pass.
A single ticket for 2 zones costs DKK 24 and is valid for 1 hour and 15 minutes, while a Rejsekort allows you to travel across the zones at a discount during certain times You get a 20% discount when there are not many other people travelling by bus, train and metro.
You automatically get the time discount every weekday from 11 am to 1 pm and 6 pm to 7 am, as well as all Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Children travel at about half price and adults who are 67 years or older or on pension/early retirement can save up to 45% with Rejsekort on Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other public transport options in Copenhagen.
